About
Brent Cassity hosts the Nightmare Success podcast and is a member of the White Collar Support Group. He draws on his own journey through the federal system to lead conversations about falling, rebuilding, and coming back.
He has led the conference’s marquee fireside chats across all three years: David Israel in 2024, Joe Bankman in 2025, and Dickie Scruggs in 2026.
At the White Collar Conference
Brent Cassity hosted the conversation, introducing Scruggs and walking him from his Mississippi childhood through the asbestos and tobacco cases, the plea and prison. He compared Scruggs's arrival at Ashland with his own first hours at Leavenworth, waiting in a cell without knowing who to tell he had been designated to the camp, and he credited Scruggs with using his time inside to build something that helps other people.
“One of the first things that happens when you go to prison is they don't tell you anything, and that's one of the losses of your freedom.”
